Description

Thatchwood is a friendly guesthouse at the entrance of St. Francis Bay;
a unique village of white walled, thatched roofed houses and beautiful marina,
encircled by a nature reserve, the Kromme river and the Indian Ocean.
The relaxed atmosphere and personal service of the Dutch owners will ensure
your stay will be a memorable one.
Besides a full buffet and English breakfast served on the sunny veranda,
a superb 3-course dinner can be enjoyed in the evening.
For golfers, Thatchwood is ideally situated on the St. Francis Bay golf course.
With the 6th and 8th tee almost in our garden, you can tee off only 2 minutes
away from your breakfast. Also non-golfers can enjoy the course: strolling down
the fairways is just a scenic route to the unspoiled beaches where you can watch
dolphins and whales. Thatchwood is only 1 hour drive west of Port Elizabeth.

Directions

After you leave the airport, follow the signs to the N2 motorway towards CAPE TOWN and HUMANSDORP. Once you are on the N2 keep driving for approximately 45 minutes until you see the R330 HUMANSDORP exit. Take this exit and follow the road into Humansdorp. You will come to a stop street with 2 large palm trees and an Engen Garage opposite. Cross over, passing the garage on your left. Drive through the town to a T-junction. Turn left here and follow the road and signs to ST. FRANCIS BAY. When you get to St. Francis Bay, turn left and Thatchwood will be directly ahead of you.
