Gonubie Beach situated on the mouth of the Gonubie River on

Gonubie Beach is situated at the mouth of the Gonubie River on the Wild Coast. Only 8km off the main East London / Durban N2 route, and twenty minutes away via the Freeway from the thriving City of East London the Gonubie is the perfect base to explore the East Coast, the Kei River area and the surrounding Historic towns of Cathcart, Stutterheim and King Williams Town.

There are many tourist activities to enjoy in and round Gonubie

Gonubie is a rapidly growing, pleasant and relaxed coastal town incorporated in the ‘Greater East London’. Gonubie’s original crest, ‘First Impressions are Lasting’, depicts the sun rising over the sea, symbolizing it’s ideal location beside river and sea. Unspoilt riverine and coastal indigenous flora and fauna can be seen along the Gonubie River, the sand dunes and the vlei (wetland) area of the Gonubie Nature Reserve. Along the ocean side of the primary dune, almost 500 m of elevated timber broadwalk allows all ages to view the spectacular ocean – often visited by schools of dolphin and whales. The boardwalk leads to an exceptionally attractive tidal pool, which together with the swimmers in the ocean, surfers, sailboarders, fisherman and returning ski boats offer a compendium of visual delights to the onlooker.
